Following a serious drought and a nearly two-month long ban on outdoor burning, Owen County Judge-executive Carolyn Keith has lifted ban but warned it could go back into effect if conditions warrant.
The ban went into effect Sept. 24 and was lifted early Friday.
A state of emergency relating to the drought was officially declared Oct. 26.
According to the declaration, the drought created considerable hardships for Owen County farmers.
Keith said the burn ban and the state of emergency were two separate proclamations.
