IRS revokes tax-exempt status for five groups

The Internal Revenue Service has revoked the tax-exempt status of nearly 3,200 organizations in Kentucky including five from Owen County.
According to a release from the IRS, the organizations had not filed IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ for each of the past three years.
The Owen County organizations that lost their tax-exempt status are Owen County Summer League, the Truth Ministries of Owen County, the Andana Arboritum Inc., the Friends of Owen County Parks and Recreation and the South Owen County Volunteer Fire Department.
