Owen County grand jury returns indictments

An incident at a home on Hwy. 22 East has led one man to be indicted on charges of burglary and assault.
Benjamin Christopher Hellard, 33, was indicted on the charges of third-degree burglary, second-degree assault and first-degree persistent felony offender after allegedly breaking into the home and being caught by the homeowner.
Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond said the incident took place May 24, when Hellard and another man allegedly stole a lawnmower and Weedeater, among other items.
