In conjunction with the celebration of Memorial Day, the Owen County Historical Society will be selling books at the Owenton Cemetery from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase two collections of Owen County cemetery records. “Gone But Not Forgotten” ($54) contains records of headstone inscriptions from the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Owenton established in the late 19th century.
“Eternal Rest” ($18) is a compilation of birth and death dates for 240 church and family graveyards in the county.
Visitors are asked to stop by the society’s table on the way to visit and decorate the graves of loved ones.
In case of rain, books will be available at the history museum at 206 N. Main Street.
The museum will be open to the public on from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The public is invited to drop into the museum for refreshments and take the opportunity to view the new World War I exhibit.
