The Kentucky Fire Commission has set up a phone line to provide information to prospective volunteer firefighters.
The commission will direct calls from all over Kentucky to recruiters who will take information from people interested in joining volunteer departments.
The information will be passed along to the volunteer service closest to the caller.
The 800 number will make it easier for those who want to join the fire department as well as streamline volunteer records.  The direct line is 1-800-347-3546.
