Harold Glenn Barnes, 62, of Owenton, died Feb. 13, 2009, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. Born Jan. 20, 1947, in Wolfe County, he was the son of the late Garrett and Dorothy Bronson Barnes. He was a truck driver, an Army veteran and a member of Corinth Baptist Church. He was very active in the Odd Fellows Emmanuel Lodge #213 and the Owen Masonic #128 F&AM, where he was a past Grand Master and served as past District Deputy Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his son Harold Glenn Barnes Jr. of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Glenda Sue Barnes of Greenville, S.C.; a brother, Calvin Barnes of Newtonsville, Ohio.; three sisters, Fannie Osborne of Owenton, Lillie Barnes of W.Va., and Tillie Barnett and her husband Tom of Winchester; four grandchildren; and the family of Jeff and Jennifer Caudill, whom he adopted as his own.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Acy and William Jefferson Barnes.
Funeral services were held Feb. 16, 2009, at McDonald and New Funeral Homes.
