The weather may not have been the best but the Owen County High School cross-country team had one of its best days of the season on Saturday.
The team traveled to Lexington to take part in the Lexington Catholic Invitational. The course at the Kentucky Horse Park was muddy and slick but that did not stop Hunter Trenary from finishing second with a time of 16:11.
Trenary finished ahead of the Nick Waltman from Sayre School in Lexington.
Last year, Trenary finished in second behind Waltman in the Region 5 A meet.
Cory Hudnall finished with his best time of the year with a 18:39. Keith Stout and Kyle Flood also represented Owen County in the race.
In the girls varsity race, Autumn Hunter set a new personal record with a time of 22:27. This broke her old mark by 1:21 despite the fact she fell down with 800 meters left in the race.
Audrey Hager also set a personal record and Samantha Tamplin ran her best time of the season.
In the boys middle-school race, Westley Johnson, Jalen Spaulding and Noah Hunter all ran for the Rebels.
Johnson and Spaulding finished together with Hunter 30 seconds behind them.
