The Owen County High School girls golf team made its annual trip to the State All ‘A’ Golf Tournament on Saturday. It was their fifth-straight trip to the tournament.
The team played at Woodson Bend Golf Course in Somerset and as a team would finish in eighth-place overall.
Shelby Power had a good day for the Lady Rebels as she shot an 81 to finish in seventh place as an individual.
It was an improvement over last year when she shot an 85 and finished in 19th place.
For Owen County, Lydia Merrifield fired a 101; Morgan Woodyard. 106; Grace Chilton, 107; and Debbie Farrar, 109.
Justin Trusty also headed to the boys tournament where he represented Owen County as individual. He would shoot a 79 and finish in 20th place overall.
The rest of the team played at the Henry County Invitational where they finished third as a team.
Austin Fitzgerald shot an 82 to finish second overall at the Henry County tournament.
