On Jan. 13-14, Madison Gamble, Miss Owen County Fair, travelled to Louisville to represent Owen County in the Miss Kentucky County Fair Pageant. There were 90 girls competing for the title. Gamble placed in the top 15. It has been 19 years since an Owen County girl has placed in the Miss Kentucky County Fair pageant. There were several Owen County Fair Board members, family and friends in Louisville to cheer Gamble on. Owen County Fair Pageant Director Becky Duvall said supporters hoped Gamble would continue to compete. Supporters said Gamble diid a great job and they are very proud of her and wish her the best of luck. Although Owen County is a closed pageant, there are over 60 open pageants through the state which Gamble can compete in and return to state competition next January. Gamble is a junior at Owen County High School and is the daughter of Teena and Kelley Gamble. Her grandparents are Tommy and Anna Mae Carver of Bromley and Jerry and Eleanor Gamble of Long Ridge.
