Friday fire blamed on oil heater

Investigators are looking into a fire that took place on Old Mill Road Friday.
Owen County volunteer firefighters were called to the scene of the fire at the 300 block of Old Mill Road, near Lusby’s Mill, at about 3 p.m.
A neighbor to those living at the residence knocked on the door of the home to see if anyone was inside, but the neighbor got no response.
Jude Canchola, public information officer for the Owenton-Owen County Volunteer Fire Department, said no one was home at the time of the fire.
