Friday night’s Owen County High School football homecoming contest came down to the final seconds and then some.
After leading 7-0 at halftime, the Rebels found themselves down 21-7 early in the fourth quarter.
Owen County however refused to quit clawing their way back to 21-14 with 2:28 left to play in the game.
With the Walton-Verona offense coming on the field, Owen County had three timeouts remained and had to force a three-and-out to have a chance to tie the game. That is exactly what they would get as the defense came up big and forced the punt.
