Bro. John’s sermon was on Luke 2: 21-35 — “The Word Made Flesh.”
When Joseph and Mary came to the temple to offer sacrifice, they didn’t realize they had the real sacrifice in their little child, Jesus.
Simeon had faith as an old man that God would let him see the Lord Christ. When Mary and Joseph came to the temple, Simeon, through the Spirit, knew he was the Christ.
He held him and blessed God and said, “Let me depart in peace because I have seen the salvation for the whole world.”
Simeon blessed them and said unto Mary, “This child is set for the fall and rising up again of many in Israel. Yea, a sword shall pierce through thine own soul also, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
Bonnie Woodyard sang a song she wrote titled “He’s Coming Again.”
Keep in prayer the healing of the sick, shut-ins, missionaries, military, families who have lost loved ones, and our special prayer list.
We had communion and our fellowship dinner after the morning service.
