Police giving playing cards to inmates in hopes of finding leads in unsolved murders

By Molly Haines

Nearly seven years ago, Mark W. Roach Jr. was found at his Monterey home, barely alive and with multiple blunt force injuries to the head.
Roach was transported via Lifeflight to the University of Kentucky Hospital, where he was unable to recover from his injuries and died Oct. 22, 2004.
Today, Roach’s murder remains unsolved, but his picture and case information have recently become part of Kentucky’s first unsolved-cases initiative.
