The Owen County High School boys track team was in Dry Ridge on Friday night where they took part in the Grant County Invitational. The team performed well enough to finish in third place.
In the 100-meter dash, Kyler Law finished fifth; Drew Smith, seventh; and Dakota Humphries, 15th.
In the 200-meter dash, it was Mariano Bolanos placing seventh; Logan Bitler, eighth; and Rhyan Hatchett, ninth.
It was Hatchett coming across the finish line fifth in the 400-meter dash with Dakota Pence, seventh; Kaleb Wilhoite, eighth; and Keith Stout, ninth.
Daniel Lopez was sixth in the 800-meter run with Isaias Olguin, 12th; and Stout, 14th.
Cory Hudnall placed third in the 1600-meter run with Westley Johnson coming in 15th place.
Hunter Trenary won the 3200-meter with Hudnall, second; and Westley Johnson, sixth.
Pence came in fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with Kody Joslin, sixth.
Joslin then finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with Pence, sixth; and Spencer Wilcoxson, eighth.
In the team races, the 4x100-meter relay team was third; the 4x200-meter team, fifth; 4x400-meter team, fifth; and the 4x800-meter team, fourth.
In the field events, Sammy Champman placed fifth in the discus with teammates Andrew Banks coming in seventh and Willie Johnson finishing in 11th place.
Joslin finished second in the high jump.
Drew Smith won the long jump while Law was fifth; Jeremy Smith, eighth; Bolanos, 10th; and Evan Lozier, 12th.
Banks was third in the shot put with Chapman, seventh; Wilcoxson, 11th; and Willie Johnson, 14th.
Jeremy Smith finished fifth; Wilhoite, sixth; Lozier, seventh; and Hatchett, eighth in the triple jump.
Boone County High School won the meet with Newport finishing second.
