If only they could have saved some of those runs …
On April 29, the Owen County High School girls softball scored 13 runs in a win at Henry County.
The 13-8 victory was the team’s second straight after beating Shelby County High School the week before.
In the two wins, the Lady Rebels scored 22 total runs.
They could have used some of those runs later in the week.
On Tuesday, the team traveled to Frankfort to take on Western Hills High School. The Lady Wolverines is a team playing well at this point in the season.
After dropping seven of their first eight games to begin the season, they had won nine of their next 11 before they headed into their contest with Owen County.
The Lady Wolverines would continue to play well as they defeated the Lady Rebels 9-0.
Owen County would close out the week by welcoming Carroll County High School to Owenton.
The two teams would complete a suspended game that saw the Lady Panthers win 10-1. They would then win the regularly scheduled game 13-4.
The loss dropped the Lady Rebels to 7-11 on the season.
The team will look to bounce back on Thursday when they travel to play at North Oldham.
The Lady Mustangs were 9-14 as of Monday.
On Friday, Owen County will hit the road to play Jeffersontown High School in the Lady Chargers Classic. The hosts were 5-17 entering play this week.
The Lady Rebels will play another road game on Monday at Shelby County High School.
