Baseball standout has Owen Co. ties

Christopher Powers (center), the son of Dawn (McDonald) and Fred Powers Jr.  of Versailles and formerly of Owenton, is a senior first baseman and designated hitter for the 2013 Woodford County High School Yellow Jackets varsity baseball Team. This is his fourth year as a member of the varsity team.  The Yellow Jackets began the season ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 7 in the nation and had the honor of winning the 2012 state baseball championship.
