Operation Preparation, a college/career readiness advising program, was held at the Maurice Bowling Middle School and Owen County High School March 11-15. Every eighth- and 10th-grade student met with volunteer community advisors to discuss the student’s career aspirations, education/ training requirements and review whether the student is on target to meet his or her goals. Advisors discussed recommended courses that will prepare him or her for success during and after high school. Hearing from an unbiased adult that study skills, focus and preparation play a crucial part in ensuring future success for students was the goal of the program. The organizers would like to thank the community volunteers who made this program possible.
