“C.B.” Marston

“C.B.” Marston, 93, of Owenton passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at his residence.
Born Nov.13, 1918, in the Monterey community of Owen County, he was the son of the late Duward and Eloise Marston. C.B. was a tobacco farmer, a buyer for Loose Leaf Tobacco Warehouse in Lexington, an avid gardener and loved fishing. He was a member of the Owen County Sportsman’s Club, a devout University of Kentucky fan and a member of the Greenup Fork Baptist Church.  CB also served his country in the Army during WWII.  He had a very colorful military career and was honorably discharged as a corporal.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Thelma Roland Marston; his sons, Gene Harris (Beverly) Mason of Owenton and Larry (Linda) Mason of LaGrange; his sister, Ward Smith of Greenup; nephew, John (Debbie) Smith; grandchildren, Suzanne, Shannon, Mike, Leigh and Brittanie; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney, Devon, Brandon, Colton, Tyler, Chamberlin, Caitlynn and Bradon; a great-nephew, Josh (Lindsay) Smith; a great-niece Katie Smith; and great-great nephew and niece Hatcher and Salem Smith.
 Family will receive friends at the Seminary Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m.  Burial will be in the Owenton Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Guy presiding.
