If the federal government shuts down Friday, do will still have to pay our taxes that day?
We are free-market economy and that means we don't pay for goods or services we (or society as a whole) don't receive.
So if the ladies and gentlemen who are paid to respresent us in Washington decide to shut the city down as a fairly meaningless gesture, I see no reason the taxpayers should have to pony up for the day.
