Rebels
stun the 'Stangs
It looked
for a while on Saturday night like Owen County was going to lose
two games last week. The Rebels had already dropped a contest
at Grant County on Jan. 15 and were in a hole heading into the
locker room at halftime on Saturday night against North Oldham.
At Grant County, the Rebels dropped a 45-37 decision to the Braves.
Owen County trailed 30-27 heading into the fourth quarter. Owen
County, however, was not able to make the defensive stops they
needed, or hit the necessary shots, to get the win. Grant County
would hold on and get the 45-37 win.
Collin Gamble led Owen County with 15 points and Jordan Shelton
finished with nine. Shelton also pulled down 13 rebounds.

Lady
Rebels drop tight one
Going into
Saturday night’s Homecoming Game against North Oldham, the
Lady Rebels were looking to avoid their first two-game losing
streak of the season. Owen County had not played a game for more
than a week but Coach Osborne said before the game it had been
a good week of practice.
The Lady Rebels led 6-2 at the end of the first quarter and maintained
the lead heading into halftime.
The lead did not last long. The Lady Mustangs came out and scored
the first points in the third quarter to take a 17-16 lead. North
Oldham would outscore the Lady Rebels 15-10 in the third quarter
to take a 27-26 lead into the final quarter. Owen County struggled
from both the field and the free–throw line in the quarter,
allowing North Oldham to get the lead.
