Cases of vandalism, arson still unsolved

Fires and vandalism have plagued Cubbage Avenue for several weeks

Residents of Cubbage Avenue have had a lot to deal with in the past few weeks.

In addition to several houses and a truck being burnt, there have been a number of acts of vandalism. Pools have been slashed, garden hoses have been cut, guns have even been shot through a window.
The incidents have happened over the span of a few weeks, with those responsible still not caught.

KSP Arson Investigator Danny Stivers said the incidents are all under investigation at present time, and he could not discuss whether there were any leads or specific persons of interest as of press time.

Owen County Sheriff Zemer Hammond said all local law officials have been involved in patrolling the street since the fires and vandalism have begun.

“All we can do is try to catch (who did it),” he said.

Hammond said the Sheriff’s Department will continue to patrol the area, and try to catch the person or persons who did it.

“Before someone gets hurt,” he said.
