Drought causing problems for county farmers

• Many farmers have had to sell livestock
to make feed supplies last

With high temperatures and a low amount of rainfall these past few months, it’s no wonder that local farmers are having trouble keeping their animals fed.

Grass, hay, and water are becoming so scarce in the county, many farmers have had to sell some of their herd.

Natural gas service

available in county

Natural gas service is now available in Owen County as a result of many years of hard work by the City of Owenton, Owen County and its community development team.

Crews from Clay Pipeline out of Manchester Kentucky completed the final testing of the line last month and were given the green light to put the line in service in August.
