Owen
County heats up

It’s
hot outside.
And it doesn’t show much signs of letting up.
In Owen County for the past couple of weeks, temperatures have ranged
from the high 80s to high 90s, reaching triple digits late last
week. According to weather.com, it should cool off next week, but
not too much. The temperature will get down to 79 degrees on Saturday,
but will be back at 90 by Monday.

Primary
school has interim principal
The
primary school has a principal at last. Gary Stennett assumed his
duties as interim principal at OCPS on Monday.
A retired teacher and principal, Stennett has worked in education
for 39 years. He spent nine years in the classroom at Bullitt and
Anderson counties before serving as principal at Bald Knob Elementary
in Frankfort. This is his fifth job as an interim principal after
retiring in 1992.

OCHS
will make decision soon
The SBDM
council at Owen County High School has a couple of long days ahead
of them. At their regularly scheduled Monday evening meeting, the
council set a time line and discussed criteria for hiring a principal
for the school.
