Elk
Creek Hosts All-American Championship And
World
Challenge

Elk Creek
Hunt Club hosted the All-American Shooting Clays Championship
and World FITASC Challenge, sponsored by the Boomer Esiason Foundation,
last weekend. Gerald Hendrickson, left, traveled from Morganfield,
Ky., to compete.

Shooters,

Elk Creek “a great place to shoot – good range, good
targets, good people.” There were 499 competition shooters,
and the main event sporting clays competition winner was Wendell
Cherry from Tennessee. Club manager Gary Kathman reported competitors
from all over the continental United States, Canada and England.
He called the event a huge success, saying there was a large outpouring
of support from the community. Local people volunteered and helped
raise money for their organizations. One group supervised the
parking lot and ran a shuttle service to and from the hunt club,
and others set up refreshment stands for workers and competitors.
Kathman said he appreciates everything the community does to support
the hunt club.
