Joyce Lucille Stivers True, 71

Joyce Lucille Stivers True, 71, of Glencoe, died Feb. 22, 2007, at St. Luke Hospital East in Ft. Thomas. Born Nov. 10, 1935, she was the daughter of the late James and Phyllis Moudy Stivers. She was a retired school teacher and member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Susan True of Evansville, Ind., and William G. and Vicky True of Covington, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Jim Jansen of Poplar Grove, and Sheila and Pete Schierloh of Florence; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” True. Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with the Rev. Adam Polk officiating. Burial was in Poplar Grove Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were John True, Chris True, Billy Hearne, Mike Hearne, Jeff Johnson and Larry Griffin. Memorial contributions may be made to Poplar Grove Baptist Building Fund or Poplar Grove Cemetery Fund.

Anna Wingate, 88

Anna Wingate, 88, of Batavia, Ohio, died Feb. 22, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Clermont, Ohio. Born May 24, 1918, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late John Linton and Willie Mae Brink Linton Bourne. She was a retired employee of Diamond National Company and a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Darryl L. Wingate of Batavia, Ohio; a daughter, Barbara Farley of Bethel, Ohio; five grandchildren; and a special friend, Aidan Creager.
Funeral services were held Feb. 24 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with the Rev. Ed Lassley presiding. Burial was in Monterey Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Crosspointe Building Fund. Please visit the guest register at mcdonaldandnew.com.

Charlie Collins, 78

Charlie Collins, 78, of Leslie County died Feb. 24, 2007, at St. Luke East Hospice Care Center. Born Oct. 27, 1928, he was the son of the late Roe and June Gibson Collins. He was a coal miner and farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Abner Collins of Sanders; four sons, Emanuel Collins of Sparta, Dorsey Ray Collins of Sanders, Wayne Collins of Carrollton and Mark Collins of Owen County; three daughters, Emma Harris of Turner Station, Pauline Purvis of Turner Station and Bonnie Landrum of Bedford; a brother, Matthew Collins of Manchester; a sister, Chloe Arnett of Oneida; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Sue Steele.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 28 at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial will be in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Micheal Wayne, 40

Michael Wayne “Mike” Tingle, 40, of Worthville, died Feb. 19, 2007, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born March 8, 1966, he was a crane operator for North American Steel.
He is survived by his parents, Larry Tingle of Smithland and Vernon and Carol Poe Prather of Worthville; grandmothers Louise Pyles and Ina Prather of Owenton; a sister and brother-in-law, Cristal and David Harney of Carrollton; two step-sisters and their spouses, Laurie D. and Gayle Lee Stivers, and Sandy and Dan Logan of Owenton; five nieces, Kala Gray, Ashley Cooke, Emily and Taylor Baker, and Codi Harney; a nephew, Rodney Harney; and a great-nephew, Kylan Gray.
Funeral services were held Feb. 22 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bro. David Wotier presiding. Burial was in Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Rowena Irmalee Miller, 84

Rowena Irmalee Miller, 84, of Load died Feb. 22, 2007, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Born Oct. 26, 1922, in Load, she was the daughter of the late James Gilbert and Ersie L. Curry Nichols. She was a clerk on the Alaskan Highway, a secretary at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, and a clerk in the Greenup County clerk’s office. She was a member of Load Christian Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, William Joseph Power III of Owenton, Stephen and Patty Sue Miller of Owenton, Terry and Gina Miller of Stephenville, Texas, and Randall and Annetta Miller of Load; a daughter, Denise Ann Ratliff of Load; grandchildren Christopher Power, Michael Power, Stephanie Glancy, Courtney Miller, Jessica Miller, Erica Miller, Beth Miller, Randy Hollis, Danyael Garcia, Sara Miller, Justin Miller, Cody Miller, Brandon Miller and Randall Ratliff; and great-grandchildren Kollin Glancy, Katlyn Glancy, Kerry Grace Glancy and Aaron Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar A. Miller; a grandson, Mathew Miller; and a granddaughter, Sarah Miller.
Funeral services were held Feb. 26 at Load Christian Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Newsome officiating. Burial was in Nichols Cemetery in Load.
