Factor Game Night is Friday
TAPP will sponsor a Fear Factor Game Night on Friday at 7 p.m.
at the vacant lot behind the Monterey Fire Department. The event
will feature games, food challenges and a bonfire. Food will be
provided. Though it is designed for teens, anyone in the community
may attend. There is no charge for participation. Door prizes
will be given away for those who register. Those who attended
last week’s Summerfest and return with their bracelets and
friends will have the chance to win a $50 gift card. For more

Yard sale and bake sale are Saturday
A yard sale and bake sale will be held at Monterey Market on Saturday
from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Monterey Baptist
Church mission trip to New Orleans.
Adult Learning Center has changed hours
The hours for the Adult Learning Center have changed from June
18 through Aug. 3. Monday, the center will be open from 9 a.m.
to 2 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9
a.m. to 3 p.m. Additional times are available by appointment.
Class of ‘55 reunion is June 30
The Class of 1955 reunion will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. June
30 at the Country Grill in Dry Ridge.
Library is closed July 4
The Owen County Public Library will be closed for the holiday
on July 4. The library will re-open July 5 at 9:30 a.m.
Adult Education Center needs donations
The Owen County Adult Education Center is asking for donations
for their yard sale, which will be held at the center on July
14. If you have items you would like to donate please call Veronica
or Fannie at the Adult Learning Center at 484-0405, or drop items
off at the Center at 60 Old Monterey Road. All donations are tax
deductible. Proceeds from the yard sale will help support the
literacy program.
Cross Country
practice begins July 16
Anyone interested in running cross country for OCHS during the
2007-2008 school year should contact Coach Sutton at 223-4825
or 803-5025. Practice will begin July 16.
OCHS site-based council meeting dates will change
The Owen County High School site-based council will meet on the
second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Media Center
Head Start accepting applications
Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2007-08 school
year. Children must be 3 years old by Oct. 1. For an appointment
call Paula Bond at 484-4249.
Students to work on calendar
STEP (Student Technology Entrepreneur Productions) will produce
a 2008 calendar as a fund-raiser for the 2008 Project Graduation.
The theme of the calendar will be the natural beauty of Owen County.
In August STEP will conduct a contest to select 12 photos for
the calendar. All amateur photographers are encouraged to get
out and shoot some photos for this contest.
Class of ‘75 reunion is Aug. 17
The Class of 1975 will hold a reunion from 7 to 9 p.m. Aug. 17
at the Owen County Extension Office. Call Sheila Stewart for details

Class of ‘77 reunion is Nov. 10
The Class of 1977 reunion will be from 6-12 p.m. on Nov. 10 at
Perry Park Country Club. Hotel reservations can be made by calling
