Mobile home park yet to completely vacate

More than 35 days have passed since Faith Acres mobile home park residents were told they needed to vacate. Now, the park’s owner, Jerry Brewer, is operating the park without a permit.
“They should be out by now,” said Justin Pittman, Environmental Health Director for Three Rivers District Health Department.
Pittman said Brewer was attempting to get the permit reinstated, but had incomplete paperwork.
The paperwork was returned to Brewer about a week ago, and Pittman said he has not heard from him since.
Brewer could not be reached for comment at press time.
The order to vacate was sent after a number of uncorrected health code violations were found that had continued for more than a year.
Instead of just the one health inspection that is required per year, five were done on the park from October 2006 to March 2007.
Violations at the park included illegal sewer connections, rodents and several vacant homes with broken windows and missing doors.
While some violations were corrected, many still remained by the deadline of March 1. At that time, if any violations remained, a notice of suspension would be issued. The permit was suspended, and a new one cannot be issued until the park is brought up to the current code.
Pittman said he has seen about four or five homes still in the park. After the order to vacate, if they hadn’t in the time frame, the issue went to County Attorney Charlie Carter.
Carter said it is an ongoing investigation and he cannot speak on the matter at this time.
