Three injured in wreck on Sweet Owen Road
A single-vehicle crash on Sweet Owen Road (Kentucky Highway 845) Monday afternoon sent three people to
the hospital with minor
injuries, according to Kentucky State Police Post 5 dispatch.
According to a state police report, Josiah Hollis, 18, of Owenton, was traveling
eastbound in a 1993 Ford pickup when a
rear tire went off
the right side of the roadway.
According to the report provided by dispatch, the driver over-corrected and
left the road, striking a fence and causing
the vehicle to overturn.
Emergency crews had to extract Hollis from the vehicle. He was taken to New
Horizons Hospital.
Two passengers were also taken to the hospital with what KSP dispatch called
minor injuries.
Nicholas Kaelin, 13, and Christopher Kaelin, 17, both of Corinth, were also
taken to New Horizons.
According to state police, all three were wearing their seatbelts.
New Horizons staff declined to release the status of the patients Tuesday morning,
citing HIPAA privacy regulations.
The Owen County Fire Department, Owenton Fire Department, Owen County Rescue
and Owen County Life Squad
assisted at the accident
scene.
Trooper Eric Bowman was the investigating officer.
