Sleep program begins tomorrow
The Pendleton Extension Service and Three Rivers District Health Department is providing 33 techniques to

consistently get a restful sleep each night. The program is part of the Weight the Reality Series and this session is

open to the public. The program begins at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Pendleton Extension Office. Space is limited so

RSVP to 654-3395.

WMU Association meeting is tomorrow
New Liberty Baptist Church will host the Spring WMU meeting at 7 p.m. tomorrow. Sully Runion will be the

guest speaker.

Library to be closed tomorrow
The Owen County Public Library will be closed tomorrow for staff development. It will re-open Friday at 9:30 a.m.

Silent auction will benefit Relay
Peoples Bank is holding a silent auction until Friday in their lobby. The auction will benefit Relay for Life.

Master Logger Class is Saturday
There will be a KY Master Logger CEU Class titled “Safety in the Logwoods” at the Henry County Extension

Office at 9 a.m. Saturday. There is a $50 fee and it will count as six credit hours. Call Stacy White at (606) 523-0972 to

register.

Free Family Fun Night is Monday
The Owen County Public Library will host a Free Family Fun Night at 6:30 on Monday. The event will feature

The Amazing Portable Circus with Juggler Dave and Friends.

Democratic Executive Committee will meet Tuesday
The Democratic Executive Committee will meet at 7 p.m. at the court house on Tuesday.

Duncan Family is selling candles
The Duncan Family’s Relay for Life team is selling “Plenty of Scents” candles through April 27. Contact

Mindy Pillichafske at 484-0551. The Duncan Family is also doing a fundraiser in conjunction with Shadowbox

Cabaret at Newport on the Levee on April 26. Half of the full-price ticket sales will be donated to the American

Cancer Society. Reservations must be made under “American Cancer Society” to be counted. Reservations may

be made by calling (859) 957-7625.

Christian preschool is accepting applications

The Owen County Christian Preschool is currently accepting applications for the three- and four-year-old programs.

You may pick up enrollment packets at First Baptist Church or call 484-2430 with any questions.

Relay for Life deadline is May 1
The deadline for sponsors, teams and team T-shirt orders for the Owen County Relay for Life event is May 1.

Prom formalwear and donations needed
Ladies, we are now accepting gently used formal dresses and accessories. Donations are also needed to help

with additional prom expenses, dry cleaning, etc. Drop off your donated items with Diana O’Toole at the

Owen County HIgh School or by contacting Dana Gill at 484-2618.

Prom Closet will offer formal gowns
If you are a teenager in need of a dress for homecoming, prom, or any other special event, the Prom Closet

can help. The Prom Closet Project distributes gowns twice a year for Prom and Class Night. During both

seasons you can set up an appointment to shop for your very own dress. This is completely free of charge.

County awarded FEMA money
Owen County has been awarded $5,020 in FEMA money for 2007. If you are interested in applying for the

funds, you will need to be a nonprofit agency. If you have any questions, please call Owen County

Community Action at 484-2116 or NKCAC at (859) 581-6607.

Police will conduct
periodic road blocks
The Owenton Police Department, in conjunction with other agencies, will be conducting periodic road

blocks during the next couple of months.
