Missing Owen County

teen found safe

The search for a missing 15-year-old Owen County teen ended happily for his family on Monday.
His concerned family called the Owen County Sheriff’s office after the teen left home Friday and had not returned.


Vandalism reported at

two local businesses

Boards have taken the place of windows in two Owen County businesses.
Windows in both Summer’s Styles Unlimited and Family Billiards were found broken early last Wednesday.
Owenton Police Officer Gary Alcorn said the incidents likely occurred sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Wednesday morning.


Alcorn also said it was likely that the damage was run-of-the-mill vandalism by teens or young adults.


 

Arson suspected in Monterey fire

A fire at an abandoned house in Monterey Saturday night kept fire crews busy and led firefighters to contact an arson investigator with the Kentucky State Police to look into the matter.
Monterey Fire Chief Larry House said an old house on Taylor Street, which he thinks was a hotel at one distant time, “burned completely down.”

An unidentified woman entered Grant County Deposit Bank, in downtown Williamstown, 10 minutes before its 4 p.m. closing time on Wednesday, April 4 and handed the teller a note.



Three injured in wreck

on Sweet Owen Road

A single-vehicle crash on Sweet Owen Road (Kentucky Highway 845) Monday afternoon sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Kentucky State Police Post 5 dispatch.
