Iva Bessie Dean, 55

Iva Bessie Kinman Dean, 55, of Owenton, died March 20, 2007, in her home. Iva was a homemaker and member of the United Pentecostal Church of Carrollton. Born February 15, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Perry Kinman and Molly Rector Kinman.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Kinman. Iva is survived by her husband, Thomas Floyd Dean; two daughters, Elizabeth Tadeo of Lexington and Julie Ramirez of Owenton; two sons, Jamie Dean and Thomas Dean, Jr., both of Owenton; seven brothers, Oliver Kinman, Oggie Cutshaw, John Peckinpau, all of Texas, Tommy Kinman of Lexington, Arthur Kinman of Owenton, Freddie Kinman of Williamstown and Paul Kinman, Jr. of Ariz.; two sisters, Bonnie Lou of Texas and Joyce Ann of Ark.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 24, 2007, at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial was in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the United Pentecostal Church of Carrollton.

Clive Brown, 79

Clive Brown, 79, of Warsaw, died March 21, 2007, at the Gallatin Health Care Center. Born April 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Alfred David and Lettie Rider Brown. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Clive worked as a heavy equipment operator, carpenter, and foreman at O’Connor’s Nursery in Warsaw. He is survived by four sons, Wesley McEntire, David Brown, Gary Brown and Omer Brown; two daughters, Julia Radford and Teresa Ottopal; a brother, Ray Brown; a sister, Betty Bondurant; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 24, 2007, at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home with Bro. Denny French officiating. Burial was in Warsaw Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Gallatin Health Care Center in his memory.

Guy B. Ford, 84

Guy B. Ford, 84, of Owenton, died March 22, 2007. Born in 1922, he was the son of the late Colonel Robert Carrick Ford and Florrie Garrard Rodman. He was also preceded in death by his stepbrother, Owenton County Attorney Robert C. Ford Jr., and his brother, Owenton Circuit Judge James R. Ford.
He was an author, sailor, skier, tennis player, and avid saltwater fisherman. He served as a B-24 bomber pilot in the US Army Air Forces during WWII. He worked at The Vertol division of Boeing, the Pennsylvania Railroad, R.H. Macy & Co. Department Stores, Filene’s and served as Vice President of Industrial Relations for the Gillette Safety Razor Company until retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Dolly Elfleda Preston, seven children, six grandchildren and four siblings.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. March 31, 2007 at Church of St. Andrew in Marblehead, Mass. Burial will be in Dell Park Cemetery, Natick, Mass. Gerald Conrad, 76

Gerald Ray Conrad, 76, of Grant county, died March 26, 2007, in his home. Gerald was a truck driver for Hinkle Contracting of Paris and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church. Born February 27, 1931, he was the son of the late Elmer and Anna Conrad.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Lee Hillman Conrad; six sons, Howard Ray Conrad of Williamstown, William “Bubby” Conrad of Dry Ridge, Thomas Lee Conrad of Williamstown, Michael Harmon Conrad of Williamstown, Robert Scott Conrad of Georgetown, and Charles Rudd of California; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Conrad of Corinth; a brother, Lewis Bud Conrad of Dry Ridge; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. March 29, 2007, at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown with the Rev. Howard Chipman and the Rev. Robert Sain officiating. Burial will be in Jonesville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mary Wainscott, 79

Mary Elaine Wainscott, 79, of Owenton, died March 24, 2007, at the New Horizons Hospital. She was the daughter of the late W.T. and Churchill Wilson Wainscott. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Eunice Marksberry Milford.
She is survived by her two brothers, William Don Wainscott of New Liberty and Jerry Mitchell of New Jersey.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. March 28, 2007, at McDonald and New Funeral Home with the Rev. David Wotier and the Rev. Emory Eldridge officiating. Burial will be in Owenton Cemetery.

Eva Crawford, 89,

Eva Mae Crawford, 89, of Warsaw, died March 25, 2007, at Gallatin Health Care in Warsaw. Born January 29, 1918, Eva was the daughter of the late Edna Mabel Konkle and Ethel Morse Skirvin. Eva was a garage owner and a member of the New Liberty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Crawford. Eva is survived by two sons, Thomas Henry Crawford of Sanders and William Arthur Crawford of New Liberty; two daughters, Joyce Elizabeth DeMasters of Hamilton, Ohio, and Peggy Smith of Owenton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 27, 2007, at the Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home. Burial was in Wheatley Cemetery.

Margaret Frances Israel, 54

Margaret Frances “Buttons” Israel, 54, of Florence, died March 20, 2007, in her home. She was the daughter of the late William Vernon Smith and Stella Nunn Smith. She was an independent truck driver.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lester Smith; and a nephew, Randy Allen Stewart. She is survived by her husband, Michael Eugene Israel of North Carolina; a daughter, Margaret Ann Morgan of Florence; two brothers, Marvin Smith of Warsaw and Ronnie Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Renee Gibson, Teresa Holt and Rosie Navarro, all of Warsaw; seven nieces and four nephews; and ten great-nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 22, 2007, at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home with Bro. Danny French officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Jade Rogers, Stephanie Stewart, Jackie Stewart, T.J. Thor Finnegan, Anthony “A.J.” Stewart, Karley Ranes, Samantha Ranes, Cheyenne Ranes, Natasha Holt and Bethany Holt. Contributions are suggested to the family.

Kent Otter, infant

Kent Anthony Otter, infant son of Annissa Otter and Leafe Vazquez, was still born March 22, 2007, at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Patty Jones of New Liberty, his uncle, Kenny Otter of New Liberty, and his cousin, Breanna Otter, of New Liberty.
Pallbearers were Chaz Anderson and Derrick Anderson.
Arrangements are being handled by McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Graveside services were held March 26, 2007, in Ghent Cemetery with the Rev. John Sharpe presiding.
