Robert
Lee Asher, 65
Robert E. Lee Asher,
65, of Owenton, died March 11, 2007, at the Jewish Hospital in
Kenwood, Ohio. Born March 12, 1941, in Hyden, he was the son of
the late Doy Asher and Mahala Asher. He was a retired furrier
and a member of the True Free Christian Church of God.
He is survived by his mother, Mahala Asher of Cincinnati, Ohio;
his son, Robert Asher of Delhi, Ohio; three daughters, Deana K.
Landrum of Latonia, Mahaly Asher of Price Hill, Ohio, and Kelly
Sue Landrum of Fairfax, Ohio; two brothers, William Asher of Cincinnati,
Ohio, and Danny Asher of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Georgia
Ellis of Cincinnati, Ohio, Louise Benitez of Newport; eight grandchildren;
and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father,
Doy Asher.
Services were held March 16, 2007, at the Hamilton-Stanley Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Steve Kirk officiating. Burial was in New
Bethel Cemetery, Verona.
Margaret
Joyce Lindsey Williams, 69
Margaret Joyce Lindsey
Williams, 69, of Owenton, died March 13, 2007, at the Samaritan
Hospital in Lexington. She was the daughter of the late Travis
R. and Dera Gladys Lackey Lindsey. She was retired from BellSouth
and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
Margaret is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, James
“Chip” and Cindy Acton of Clanton, Ala., and Jeff
and Angela Williams, of Pell City, Ala.; two daughters and sons-in-law,
Pam and Steve Brock of Monterey, Kim and Jimmy Shuler of Owenton;
one sister, Montez Lindsey of Birmingham, Ala.; five grandchildren;
and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one
brother, William Eugene Lindsey; and one sister, Shirley Sykes.
Funeral services were held March 15, 2007 at McDonald & New
Funeral Homes, Owenton, with the Rev. David Wotier officiating.
Burial was in Monterey Cemetery.
Thomas
Queen, 65
Thomas Harmon Queen,
65, of Owenton, died Friday, March 16, 2007, at St. Luke Hospital
East, Cardinal Hill Rehab Unit, in Ft. Thomas.
Born January 8, 1942, in Ashland, Mr. Queen was the son of the
late Edgar Fenton and Mary Pauline (Polly) Hammond Queen and was
preceded in death by his brothers, Robert (Turtle) Queen and Edgar
Fenton (June) Queen, Jr. Mr. Queen is survived by his wife, Mary
Frances Arthur Queen; his twin children, Thomas Fenton Queen of
Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Rebecca Queen Jarrells of Wheelersburg,
Ohio; his stepson and daughter-in-law, Robert Neal “BJ”
and Benedicte McClure of Florence; his sister, Bette Webb of Ashland;
and seven grandchildren.
Mr. Queen was an accountant with a business in Owenton. He was
a proud member of the Owenton Rotary Club where he was the treasurer
for a number of years. Mr. Queen was a member of the First Christian
Church in Owenton where he was treasurer and served on various
committees.
Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., March 23 at the Owenton First
Christian Church. Funeral services will follow, led by Pastor
Bill Watson who will be assisted by Chuck Queen, nephew of Mr.
Queen. Graveside services, led by Robert Queen, nephew of Mr.
Queen, will be held 11 a.m. March 24 in Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum.
Contributions may be made to the Rotary Scholarship Fund or the
First Christian Renovation Project.
Harvey Atha, 45
Harvey Atha, 45, of Monterey, died Sunday, March 18, at the Frankfort
Regional Medical Center. Born March 4, 1962, he was a farmer and
musician. He is survived by his parents, Bobby and Janis Rhodes
Atha of Swallowfield; his special friend, Cindy Juett of Swallowfield;
three brothers and daughters-in-law, Wesley and Dale Atha of Frankfort,
Dennis and Angie Atha of Monterey and John Atha of Frankfort;
a sister and brother-in-law, Vicki and Billy Atha of Monterey;
a nephew, Carl Atha; and four nieces, Dixie Atha, Janis O’Connell,
Cassie Chaney and Monya Atha.
Honorary bearers will be David New, Mike Perry, Butch Carlisle
and Tom Lancaster. Pallbearers will be Phillip Adams, Brett Hall,
Colby New, Ray Jesse, Duane Hall, Bill Wise, Albert Hazlett, Jr.
and Bradley Haydon.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m.-2 p.m., March 21, 2007, at McDonald
& New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m.
with Bro. Larry Gaines presiding. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.

Waldrop, 76
Eris C. Waldrop, 76,
of Buechel, died March 13, 2007. She was the former Eris Carolyn
Ayres, a native of Owen County and a member of Buechel Park Baptist
Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harry T. Waldrop; three daughters,
Twila Hall, Beverly West and Valerie McGoff; seven grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; a brother, Gene Ayres; and two sisters,
Velma Clifton and Linda Karsner.
Funeral services were held March 15, 2007, at Fern Creek Funeral
Home, Louisville. Burial was in Resthaven Memorial Park.
