Artie T. Ruth, 53, died
Feb. 5, 2007, at New Horizons Medical Center in Owenton. Born
May 19, 1953, to the late Lloyd and Virginia Barnett Ruth, he
was a mechanic and resident of Glencoe.
He is survived by his son, Shane T. Ruth of Ohio; a brother, Allen
Ruth of North Carolina; and two sisters, Linda Ruth of Williamstown
and Rhonda Brown of Georgetown
Funeral services were held Feb. 9 at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral
Home in Warsaw with Bro. David Wotier officiating. Burial was
in Glencoe Cemetery.

Snell, 92
Eual Snell, 92, of Poplar
Grove, died Feb. 7, 2007, at Edgemont Healthcare Center in Cynthiana.
Born March 5, 1914, in Owen County, he was the son of the late
Johnny and Bessie Shirley Snell. He was a retired farmer and a
member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by a son, Richard Louis Snell; a grandson, Preston
Jarrod Snell; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Hazel Maddox Snell; and two sons, Robert Glenn and Cecil Ray Snell.
Graveside services were held Feb. 9 in the Poplar Grove Cemetery

Bustle, 82
Ernie
W. Bustle, 82, of Sparta, died Feb. 8, 2007, at his residence.
He was the son of the late Elmer and Lula Nicely Bustle, a World
War II Army veteran and a member of New Life Church of God.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Pendleton
of Sparta; a brother, Wilbert Bustle of Rockcastle County; two
sisters, Rosa Speed and Edna Phelps, both of Cincinnati; two grandsons;
four great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Lee Bustle; two sisters,
Jewell McQuid and Ruth Pruitt; and two brothers, Russell and Burgess
Bustle.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 at New Life Church of Christ.
A graveside service was held Feb. 12 at Floral Hills Cemetery.

Watkins, 78
William Ralph Watkins,
78, of Sparta, died Feb. 10, 2007, at his residence. He was the
son of the late James and Pearl Watkins, and was a truck driver
and auto mechanic. He was a member of Sparta Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Frances Humphries Watkins
of Sparta; two sons, James “Jim” Watkins of Lanesville,
Ind., and Tom Watkins of Sparta; a daughter, Pat Von Bokern of
Sparta; a brother, Roy Watkins of West Virginia; a sister, Betty
Herron of Erlanger; a brother-in-law, Daniel Martin Hamilton of
St. Louis; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Feb. 13 at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral
Home in Warsaw. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Feb.
14 at Forest Lawn Cemetry in Erlanger.

Alexander, 83
Loyd Grey Alexander,
83, of LaGrange, died Feb. 6, 2007. He was a native of Owen County
and was retired from the Kentucky State Police. He was a World
War II U.S. Naval veteran, a past-president of LaGrange Rotary
Club, co-founder of Oldham County Country Club, a Mason and a
member of DeHaven Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughters and son-in-law Ann Grey and Richard
Stevens and Merri Lee Jones; brothers Anfred, Herbert and Donald
Alexander; a sister, Billie Jean Hinton; and grandchildren Austin
Stevens and Lindsay Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife,
Lovelia.
Funeral services were held Feb. 10 at Heady-Radcliffe Funeral
Home with the Rev. Gary Ball of Crestwood United Methodist Church
officiating. Burial was at Valley of Rest Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Chas Jones, Gerald Alexander, Darrel Alexander and Dale Sutherland.
Honorary pallbearers were Paul Smith, Steve Brooks, Buck Wilhoite,
Herb Alexander, Andy Alexander and Junius Latimer.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care

Hunter, 94
Reuben W. Hunter, 94,
of Lexington, died Jan. 29, 2007, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center
in Wilmore. He was the son of the late Minor and Emma Hunter,
a native of Owen County, a retired millwright for Duncan Machinery,
a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Jenna and Robert
Cole and John and Tich Ruth; a daughter-in-law, Reba Ruth; seven
grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Towles Hunter, and
a son, James. C. Ruth.
Funeral services were held at W.R. Milward Mortuary in Lexington
with a military burial in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens.

Kenneth Wayne Jackson,
34, died Feb. 11, 2007, at his residence. He was the son of Brenda
Jennings and Robert Nicholas of Dry Ridge and Harold and Rosie
Jackson of Silver Grove. He was the owner and operator of B&K
Pallet Co. in Knoxville, Tenn.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiancee, Brenda
Faddis of Clinton, Tenn.; two sons, Dayman Hisle of Clinton, Tenn.,
and Kyle Jackson of Independence; a daughter, Kelcia Jackson of
Florence; step-children Austin Faddis and Dillin Faddis, both
of Clinton, Tenn., and Adam Kron of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandmother
Margaret Rodgers of Sparta; seven brothers, Harold “June
Bug” Jackson of Lake City, Tenn., Anythony, Brandon, Brian,
Bobby and Shawn Jackson, all of Silver Grove, and Randy Nicholas
of Dry Ridge; and two sisters, Renee Burbar of Florence and Michelle
Linton of Silver Grove.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Feb. 14 at Garnett-New-McDonald
Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Feb. 15. Burial will be in Napoleon Cemetery.
