Meeting
the Needs: Program hopes to offer much to community
The Rev.
Josh Hammonds of Camby Tabernacle approached church member Sully
Runyon about seven months ago, asking him to run the church’s
food bank.
Runyon decided to consult with his Lord about the prospect.
“I don’t do anything until I pray about it,” he
said.
Teens
forced to apologize, replace damaged mailboxes
This past
November, two teens destroyed almost 70 mailboxes throughout Owen
County. This week, the young men are beginning to repair the damage
they’ve done.
Fiscal
Court tables county broadband proposal
Owen County Fiscal
Court members voted to table any action on a plan to provide
wireless broadband access to Owen County residents with taxpayer
money.
The decision to put the plan on hold came at the court’s
Jan. 9 meeting; it will likely come back up at the next Fiscal
Court meeting, Feb. 13.
Phone
customers eligible for tax credit
Anyone who has paid
a phone bill since February 2003 is eligible for a little extra
money back on their tax returns this year.
Depending on the number of exemptions, telephone users can get
up to $60 back just by filling out a form.
