Roy T. Miles, 85

Roy T. Miles, 85, of Sanders, died Jan. 2, 2007, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born Nov. 21, 1921, in Owen County, he was the son of the late Sylvia Morgan and Tony Miles. He was a retired farmer and member of Jordan Baptist Church. He was a founding member of Pioneer Power Tractor Club and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Miles; a daughter, Wanda G. Raisor of Sanders; two sons, Calvin R. Miles of Ghent and Randal D. Miles of Sanders; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by sisters Dolly Miles, Anna Perry and Naomi Miles; brother Luther Miles; and grandsons Christopher Alan Miles and Matthew Lewis Miles.
Funeral services were held Jan. 5 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. John Collett officiating. Burial was in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carollton.

Mary Humphrey, 78

Mary Kathryn Humphrey, 78, of Carrollton, died Jan. 4, 2007, at Carroll County Regional Medical Center in Carrollton. She was born April 4, 1928, in Covington, the daughter of the late Elmer Gordon and Junie Ashcraft Hall. She was a retired sales clerk and member of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda K. Jones of Villa Hills; a son, Michael W. Humphrey of Carrollton; step-daughters Cathy LaCour of Somerset and Annie L. Deuschle of Moore Haven, Fla.; a step-son, David Humphrey of Ft. Thomas; three grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Abby and Willie Humphrey, Pamela Jones Rader, Jennifer Loos, Gene Visue Conroy and Celeste Kensey; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Humphrey; a son, Roy H. Humphrey; and brothers Hubert and Elmer J. Hall.
Funeral services were held Jan. 8 at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with Bro. Don Lewis officiating. Burial was in New Vine Run Cemetery in Dry Ridge. Pallbearers were Mike Humphrey, Bill Jones, Willie Humphrey, Kyle Rader, Lee Weddle and Tim Thames. Honorary pallbearers were William Miller and Leslie Hayden. Frances Rose, 75

Frances Woolums Wilhoite Rose, 75, of Owenton, died Jan. 6, 2007, at her residence. Born July 2, 1931, to the late Emmitt Woolums and Onie Martin Samples, she was retired from Schlumberger and was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Bailey Brewer of Frankfort and Diana and Larry Estes of Owenton; four sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Kathy Wilhoite of Florence, Gene and Rosemary Wilhoite of Frankfort, Bradford and Carol Wilhoite of Owenton, and Terry and Debbie Wilhoite of Warsaw; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sylvia Hawkins and Ann Heilman of Frankfort and Freda O’Connor of Warsaw; and three brothers, Johnny, Charles and Larry Wilhoite of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by three sons, Carl, Mark and Ricky Wilhoite; a daughter, Patsy Wilhoite; and a brother, Emmitt Woolums Jr.
Funeral services were held Jan. 9 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bros. David Smith and Everett Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Owenton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gary, Gene and Bradford Wilhoite, Larry Estes and Bailey Brewer. Honorary bearers were Ms. Rose’s grandsons.

Beverly Simpson, 65

Beverly Kay Simpson, 65, of Cincinnati, formerly of Corinth, died Jan. 5, 2007, at her residence.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic Church. She was born April 25, 1941, in Owen County, the daughter of Millard and Hallie T. Beckham Parr.   
She is survived by a daughter, Sherry Simpson of Cincinnati; a son, Cecil Simpson Jr. of Cincinnati; her mother, Hallie T. Parr of Corinth; a sister, Judy McKenney of Corinth; a brother, Victor Parr of Corinth; and a grandchild.
Graveside services were held Jan. 9 at New Columbus Cemetery in Corinth.
