Adam Murphy, 42

Adam Murphy, 42, of Owenton, died Dec. 11, 2006, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Aug. 14, 1964, in Edgewood, he was the son of the late Robert Patrick Murphy and Jacquelyn Marie Weist Baker. He was a forklift operator for Dana in Dry Ridge.
He is survived by two sons, Alex Earl Murphy and Zachary Lee Murphy; his wife, Teresa Bennett Murphy; five brothers, Robert, Mike and Pat Murphy and Jason and John Baker; a sister, Nancy Murphy; five step-brothers; and five step-sisters.
Memorial services were held Dec. 15 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bro. David Wotier officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the family for the benefit fund for his children. Please visit the guest register at www.mcdonaldandnew.com.

 


Elondia Jean Hamilton, 52

Elondia Jean Hamilton, 52, of Covington and formerly of Gallatin County, died Dec. 14, 2006, in the Hospice Care Center of Saint Elizabeth Hospital. Born July 28, 1954, in Cincinnati to the late Frank and Lena Robinson Kinman, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons, Robin Dale Roland of Warsaw and Aaron Todd Roland of Boone County; a sister, Debbie Walls of Owenton; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Davis.

Nancy Jo Osborne, 58

Nancy Jo Osborne, 58, of Owenton, died Dec. 16, 2006, at Gallatin Health Care. Born Jan. 29, 1948, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Mollie Jump Osborne.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Osborne of Frankfort and Carol Burke of Owenton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dub and Harold Osborne.
Funeral services were held Dec. 18 at Lighthouse Church with the Rev. Gene Weaver officiating. Burial was in Owenton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gallatin Health Care.

 


Robert J. Hunter, 84

Robert J. Hunter, 84, of Corinth died Dec. 12, 2006, in Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington. He was born Oct. 2, 1922, to the late Hillary and Nora Adams Hunter in New Columbus.  He was a longtime Owen County farmer and a World War II Army veteran.  He was a former member of the Owen County Fiscal Court, having served 16 years, and a former board member of New Horizons Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Lena Duncan Hunter; a daughter, Carolyn Keith of Owenton; a sister, Mary Belle Wright of Covington; a brother, Hillary Hunter Jr. of Corinth; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Agee and Delone Hunter.
Services were held Dec. 15 at McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth. Burial was in New Columbus Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to New Horizons Medical Center, 330 Roland Ave., Owenton 40359.


Cynthia Ann Parker, 83

Cynthia Ann Parker, 83, of Owenton, died Dec. 12, 2006, at the Hospice Care Center, St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington.
Born July 10, 1923, in New Tazewell, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Tina Elizabeth Coffey Love. She was a homemaker and a member of Owenton First Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Donald Wayne Parker of Orlando, Fla., and Robert Dennis Parker of San Diego, Calif.; two daughters, Sandra Kay Schwalb of Knoxville, Tenn., and Vicki Elaine Greene of Owenton; two brothers, Cleve Love of Monroe, Mich., and Dan Love of New Tazewell, Tenn.; a sister, Jenny Ward of Monroe, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Parker; a brother, Thomas Love; a half-sister, Elizabeth Phelps; and a half-brother, Wade Love.
Funeral services were held Dec. 15 at Owenton First Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery, New Tazewell, Tenn. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice or Hospice of the Bluegrass.

 


Donna Baldwin Stewart, 68

Donna Baldwin Stewart, 68, of Owen County, died Dec. 16, 2006, at King’s Daughters Hospital in Madison, Ind. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Nannie Sparks Baldwin, and she was a member of Long Ridge Baptist Church where she served as organist for 50 years. She and her husband, Don, owned and operated the former Long Ridge store for 25 years. She also retired from Owen Electric Cooperative with 21 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Stewart; son-in-law Tim Stover; a grandson, Collin Franklin Stover, all of Falls Church, Va.; and a sister, Janis Riley of Madison, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin D. Stewart, and a sister, Bernice Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 20 at Long Ridge Baptist Church with Bros. Jesse Bourne and Trent Holbert officiating. Bearers will be Gordon Leary, Larry Wilson, Steve Skirvin, Sam Riley, Mark Baldwin and Jay Skirvin.
