Dates
are set for
KJHS
meetings
Emily
Allen called the KJHS meeting to order. Kristan Swigert took attendance.
Kristan also read the last minutes. Ms. Trinkle asked if we have
started our projects. Ms. Trinkle also asked if we started our
genealogy. She then asked us if we found out anything that we
didn’t know about our ancestors. Ms. Trinkle told us that
she is kin to Daniel Boone’s brother.
We need to write a recipe down from our family over the holidays;
preferably an old one. Ms. Trinkle showed us her great-grandmother’s
recipe book. Later during the meeting we went over our packets
that we got at our last meeting. We talked a little about something
that was passed down to us. We’re working on another worksheet.
Then we talked about some questions people asked about the project.
Ms. Duncan read about something that we could do. Ms. Trinkle
told us that she was going to make a scrapbook. She showed us
the scrapbook. Our next meetings are Dec. 12, Jan. 10, Feb. 8,
March 13, April 18 and May 10. Our recipes are due Jan. 10 and
our projects are due Feb. 8.

The sixth-grade Kentucky Junior Historical Society (KJHS) meeting
was held Oct. 24. President Julie Spaulding called the meeting
to order. The minutes of the last meeting were read by secretary
Felicia Perkins. There was one correction to the minutes. After
the correction was made, everyone agreed to accept the minutes.
Mrs. Riley and Mrs. Trinkle asked each of us what project or projects
we were going to do. Examples of the projects are photography,
3D art, 2D art, a research paper or Kentucky scrapbook. We asked
a few questions about our projects. The projects are due in January
and will be judged in February.
After this discussion, our picture was taken. We received a list
of the days we will have a KJHS meeting. The next meeting will
be Nov. 21.
We received a genealogy chart. It is due at the next meeting.
Mrs. Trinkle said that we would be doing many more charts and
learning more about genealogy. The KJHS members thank Mrs. Riley,
Mrs. Trinkle and Mrs. Garbett for donating their time to KJHS.
