Wheatley
will host Thanksgiving dinner
Wheatley will celebrate
Thanksgiving Saturday at the Wheatley Community Center. The center
will host an annual dinner with turkey and all the trimmings topped
off with a selection of homemade pies. The food is donated and prepared
by the Wheatley community. Serving will begin at 6 p.m. with entertainment
at 7:30 p.m. Carryouts are available.
Entertainment will feature Harold and Bonnie Thomas of Wheatley
playing guitars and singing, the children of Dallasburg Baptist
Church singing, and several comedy acts performed by community members.
There may be some audience participation, so join the fun and discover
your hidden talents.
If you have attended any past dinners, you know this celebration
is about having a relaxed evening, enjoying a delicious meal and
visiting with friends. It is a time for newcomers in the community
to meet new neighbors and see what Wheatley is really about. We
invite everyone, no matter what community you are from, to join
us for this time of celebration. All proceeds go to the upkeep for
the center.
We regret that this conflicts with the Seth Kingkade benefit, but
provisions have been made by Dallasburg Baptist Church to give people
the opportunity to make their donation to the Kingkade family. The
community center will also have a basket for donations which will
be passed on to the Kingkade family.
