Asha Brock, infant

Asha Shakiah Quinn Brock, infant daughter of Robert Ellis and Sarah Nicole Goodrich Brock of Owenton, died October 25, 2006, at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington. She was one day old. She weighed 6 oz. and was 10-1/2 in. long when born.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Alexandro Raziel Brock of Owenton; paternal grandparents, Jesse and Brenda Brock of Lawrenceburg; maternal grandparents, Gene
and Elizabeth Goodrich of Owenton; paternal great-grandparents, Garland and Irene Brock of Needles, Calif., and Andrew Corman of Jackson; maternal great-grandparents, Twyman and Mary Kay Bramblett, and Bobby Lee Goodrich, all of Owenton.; aunts Charity Hjmble, Brandy Michaeletty and Gene Goodrich; and uncles Tim Jacobs, Jo Brock and Bimmy Brock  She was preceded in death by her paternal great-grandmother, Barbara Grubbs.

George Webb, 82

George T. Webb, 82, a native of Owen County and formerly of Frankfort, died Oct. 26, 2006, at St. Mary’s and Elizabeth Hospital, Louisville, following a brief illness. Born Aug. 30, 1924, the son of the late Ernest B. and Wavie B. Olds Webb, he was a United States World War II Army veteran. He was retired from the Greater Louisville Lawn Service, of which he was the previous owner. He was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Old Cedar Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Berlye Hudson Webb of Louisville; a son, Ronald T. Webb of Louisville; two daughters, Sharon Ann Dempsey of Frankfort and Marie K. Burns of Louisville; a step-son, Mike Jung of Louisville; two step-daughters, Laurie Cowden of Shelbyville and Tonya R. Carmack of Louisville; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest J. Webb.
Funeral services were held Oct. 31 at Harrod Brothers Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bob Karsner officiating. Burial was in Monterey Cemetery.
Bearers were Danny Dempsey, Greg Dempsey, Todd Dempsey, Shane Vanoy, Josh Irwin and Chuck Mivelaz. Honorary bearers were Brenton Vanoy and Ronnie Geer.

Mildred Raisor, 86

Mildred Frances Sermonis Raisor, 86, died Oct. 27, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare.Born March 2, 1920, in Owen County she was the daughter of the late James M. and Annie Lee Webster Sermonis. She was retired after 16 years of service as a nurse’s aide at the Owen County Memorial Hospital and was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her granddaughters, Valerie Baker of Danville and Regina Young of Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Raisor; a daughter, Marie Carolyn Baker; a brother, Albert Sermonis; and sisters, Ethel Olds, Edna Payton, Lou Edith Bryan and Omah Lathrem.

Lou Ballard, 77

Lou Parker Ballard, 77, of Frankfort and formerly of Owenton, died Oct. 27, 2006, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center following a long illness. Born April 15, 1929, in Monterey, the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Bessie Parker, she worked in the county judge’s office under the administration of Kepple Roland, for Owen County Rural Electric and retired in 1997 from the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Transportation Cabinet in the Dept. of Motor Carriers.
She is survived by a daughter, Joy Burnette of Frankfort; two grandsons and their spouses, Charlie and Leshia Burnette and Stephen and Elizabeth Burnette, all of Frankfort; two sisters, Alice Poe of Owenton and Mable Wingate Smith of Frankfort; a brother, Roy Parker of Owenton; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Eugene Ballard, and a brother, Leslie Martin Parker.
Funeral services were held Oct. 30 at McDonald & New Funeral Home with the Revs. David Wotier and Dwight Parker officiating. Burial was in Monterey Cemetery. Honorary bearers were her great-grandchildren, brother and physicians: Roy Parker; Caleb Neville; Nickolas, Savannah Joy and Dustin Burnette; Dr. Ann Pollock; and Dr. Willis McKee. Bearers were Charlie Bob Burnette, Stephen Patrick Burnette, Albert A. Wingate, Robert Mason, Steve Parker and Richard Dale Poe Sr.
