Wortman
named volunteer of the month for September
The Owen County School
District announced that Trace Wortman has been chosen as the
volunteer of the month for September. Trace has been volunteering
for the past four years and she states, “During this time
I have enjoyed helping and watching the children develop intellectually
from primary age into mature individuals.”
Trace volunteers in the middle, elementary and primary schools.
She has helped with assessment testing as a proctor, one-on-one
reading with individual students who need the extra help, volunteered
to help the librarian with the book fair, worked in the library
as needed, graded papers, helped the art teacher and performed
various other duties as needed. Trace is a dependable volunteer
who goes the extra mile to get everything done and is always
willing to take on a new task. The Owen County School District
is proud to have a volunteer like Trace, who is one of the first
volunteers to enter into the middle school this year. The teaching
staff appreciates her help and is looking forward to her volunteer
skills for the next several years.
Trace and her husband, Zach, live in New Liberty with their
two boys, Dean and Wade. Trace feels more parents should volunteer
because it makes a difference, even if for only one child.
