Angela O’Toole, 86

Angela McDonald O’Toole, 86, of Cincinnati, formerly of Owen County, died Aug. 31, 1995.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Daniel and Diana O’Toole, Dennis and Shirley O’Toole, Thomas and Patricia O’Toole, Maureen and Vince Esposito, Eileen O’Toole, Peggy Presta, Barb O’Toole and Fran O’Toole; 33 grandchildren including David, Danny and Denny O’Toole; 43 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Walt McDonald, Margaret Manz and Carol O’Rourke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry O’Toole; daughter Kathleen; sons, Harry and Terry; sisters, Marie and Ceil; and brother-in-law Robert O’Rourke.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Sept. 5 at Little Flower Church. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church.


Geraldine Perry, 98

Geraldine Grover Perry, 98, died Sept. 8, 2006, at Gallatin Health Care Center in Warsaw. She was a history teacher at Owen County High School. She was a member of Owenton United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Retired Teachers Association, Owen County Historical Society and Rebekah’s Lodge in Owenton.
She is survived by a host of friends and caregivers including Gerald Kemper, Jo Ann DeWitt and Cordelia Sparrow, all of Owenton. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.A. Perry.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Main Street location of McDonald & New Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 16 at the funeral home with Bill McGibney officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Naomi O’Banion, 93

Naomi Jane Bourne O’Banion, 93, died Sept. 8, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital Hospice Unit in Lexington. She was born in Owen County, the daughter of the late Louis and Mary C. Lowdenback Bourne. She was a retired employee of the former Owen County Hospital where she was an emergency room assistant. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Frankfort.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary D. Bell and Patricia Terry, both of Frankfort; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, B.F. O’Banion; a daughter, Sebelia Gillispie; two brothers, Garland and Harold Bourne; three sisters, Lela Smoot, Elizabeth Hawkins and Cordelia Parker; and a grandson, Dennis Roberts.
Funeral services were held Sept. 12 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Dr. David Hinson and Bro. Dwight Parker officiating. Mary Hranicky, 84

Mary A. Kurzendoerfer Hranicky, 84, of Somerset, died Sept. 7, 2006, at Lake Cumberland Hospital in Somerset. She was born Dec. 26, 1921, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Heintzman Kurzendoerfer. She was a homemaker and a member of Moonbeam Homemakers Club and St. Mildred’s Catholic Church in Somerset.
She is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and David Randdell, Dotty and Paul Claussen, Theresa and Phillip Rush, Jean and Mark Profitt and Cathy Herald; six sons and daughters-in-law, Frank Hranicky, Larry Hranicky, Steve and Ruth Ann Hranicky, Raymond and Brenda Hranicky, John and Linda Hranicky, and Marty and LaChelle Hranicky; 35 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.F. “Tex” Hranicky; and two grandchildren, Jerami Bates and Gregory Corder Hranicky.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Sept. 11 at St. Mildred’s Catholic Church in Somerset with Fr. Gerald Timmel officiating. Burial was at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mildred’s Catholic Church.


Maurice Walker, 83

Maurice Lee Walker, 83, died Sept. 9, 2006. Born Nov. 7, 1922, he was the son of the late A.L. and Grace Schooler Walker. He was a farmer and member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He served on the board of directors for Owen County Farm Bureau Insurance Co.
Survivors include a brother, Henry W. Walker of Ft. Worth, Texas, and a sister, Betty Chappell of Wheatley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva “Ginny” Bryant Walker, a niece and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 13 at McDonald & New Funeral Homes with Bros. Jesse Bourne and Matt Dye officiating. Burial will be in Owenton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
