Sharon
Lombardo, owner of Anna’s EsSCENTials Bodycare in Owenton,
has been selected to participate in the sixth annual J.D. Crowe
Bluegrass Festival over Labor Day weekend in Wilmore.
This is the first of the annual festivals to include arts and crafts,
and only about a dozen artists from across Kentucky were chosen
to take part. Lombardo, who has been making handmade herbal soaps
and bodycare products in Owen County for seven years, said that
she is excited and pleased at the opportunity to participate.
“This festival will bring together music lovers from all over
Kentucky. I am honored to be one of the arts and crafts participants
selected to take part. In addition to the opportunity to share my
products with a broad audience, I think it will be a lot of fun
just to be there.”
In addition to J.D. Crowe and The New South Band, there will be
18 other performers taking part in the festival that runs from tonight
through Saturday night.
For more information on performers, see www.jdcrowefestival.com/music.htm.
For information on arts and crafts represented, see www.jdcrowefestival.com/crafts.htm.
The festival will be held at Ichthus Farm in Wilmore. In addition
to traditional bluegrass music, it offers an RV Show, the art and
craft show with demonstrations, sporting events and clinics, demonstrations
and workshops by television stars and other notables and more.
Lombardo was juried into the state’s Kentucky Crafted organization,
which supports the artists of Kentucky through an annual trade show,
seminars and other marketing support.
Lombardo’s handmade soap booth will be set up in the artists’
tent on Friday and Saturday.
