Williams
wins Scholar award

Emily Williams,
daughter of Dave and Amy Williams of Wheatley and David and Kristen
Nicholson of Worthville, won an All-American Scholar At-Large
Award. She will appear in the official yearbook which is published
nationally. Williams is a student at Owen County High School.
Criteria for selection are grade point average, achievements and
a well-balanced schedule of academics and extracurricular activities.
The academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high
school students. She is the granddaughter of Larry and Peggy Maxwell
of Wheatley and Dale and Kathy Mefford of Worthville.

represented Owen County at the Kentucky State Fair on Saturday.
The girls sang “Please, Mr. Postman” at the 4-H Variety
Showcase. The girls are in the sixth grade at Bowling Middle School.

Preston
Forsee won his weight class in the novice division of market
goats at the Kentucky State Fair Saturday night. This was the
first time he had competed in the market goat division. Forsee
is in the third grade at Owen County Elementary School.
Tabor
earns masters
Jessica
Tabor will receive a master’s of science degree in nursing
from Murray State University following the close of the 2006
summer session.
