Lucy Smoot Hall,
born in the Pleasant Home community, celebrated her 94th
birthday on July 30, 2006. Hall, who now lives in Owenton,
traveled to Northern Kentucky with her sister, Opal Hawkins,
also of Owenton, where she was treated to dinner at the
Greyhound Tavern in Fort Mitchell by her nieces and sister,
Eula Stephenson, of Verona.
Hall’s fourth sister, Eloise Wright of Frankfort,
was unable to attend.
The four sisters are the only remaining siblings of the
12 children of Gus and Gertrude McGinnis Smoot.
