Arnold honored for 60 years of dentistry

Has served Owenton in many capacities over the years

Owen County’s Dr. C.C. Arnold was honored recently for his 60 years in the dentistry profession, 55 of them in Owenton.
Arnold and Dr. Hugh Smith, were honored at the Kentucky Dental Association State meeting for practicing dentistry in the state for 60 years.
Arnold is among five graduates of the 1946 class from the University of Louisville Dental School who met to celebrate their diamond reunion as part of the meeting. There are 13 of 55 classmates still living.
In addition to his service to the community as a dentist, Arnold has been active in community affairs.
He served as the Owenton mayor, city councilman and water board member. He has been a health board member, Northern Kentucky Crime Councilman, and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church.
“I’ve given my life to this community,” Arnold said.
In his dentistry practice, Dr. Arnold’s original office was on the second floor of the Old Farmers Bank Building. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952 and worked at the Henry County Clinic in Eminence from 1953 to 1954. He moved into his current office in 1955 where he and his daughter, Joy, practice.
