The Owen County Marching Band began band camp Monday morning in
front of the high school. Above, Logan Duvall marches with his
trumpet in position as he learns the first part of the show. The
band will be presenting the show “Mood Swings” and
performing music from the Broadway musical “Les Miserables.”
The band’s first official performance will be at the home
football game on Aug. 25.

Sterling ATV rider at home with broken back, expected to make
full recovery
Rumors have been flying
across Owen County that a boy died nearly two weeks ago as a result
of an ATV accident at the Owen County Fair.
Every day since the accident, 5-year-old Keegan Nicholson has
asked his mother how the boy’s been doing.
Melia Nicholson of Warsaw didn’t have the heart to tell
her son the boy died.

Dr. C.C. Arnold was honored recently for his 60 years
in the dentistry profession, 55 of them in Owenton.

part of 400-member
delegation of educators
Rob Stafford only knows
a handful of Chinese words, but that didn’t
deter him on his recent trip to China.
Part of a 400-member delegation of U.S. educators,
Stafford spent 10 days touring the most populated
nation in the world, staying primarily in Beijing
and the much smaller city of Shening in the Liaoning
Province.
