The Owen County High School will showcase its performers and host the community for some old-fashion fund Saturday at the high school.
The “End of Year Celebration will include cakewalks, ice cream, corn hole tournaments and bingo.
According to Kelly Hash, band direction, the band program wanted to do something for the community to show its appreciation for the support it has received this year.
“What better way to do that than an old-fashion ice cream social complete with games and entertainment?” he asked.
There is something for everyone this Saturday at the high school. There will be bingo and cakewalks throughout the day as well as games for the kids and miniature golf for everyone.
Entertainment will be provided throughout the event by the sixth-grade, seventh- eighth-grade and high school concert bands. Also performing will be the Senior Winterguard and various student ensembles.
A corn hole tournament will begin at 12:30 p.m. Entry fee is $5 per person. There will also be a music trivia contest and a Kentucky trivia contest as well as plenty of food and ice cream. Admission to the event is $1.
“So bring your lawn chairs, blankets and appetites to the high school this Saturday and fight those rainy day blues,” Hash said.
