The Owen County Rebels baseball team plays in the state All A tournament Saturday at Applebee’s Park in Lexington. The Rebels meet Owensboro Catholic, the defending state champs, at 10 a.m. If they win, they play again Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The championship game will be played at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Above, junior Trey Lenear waits on a pitch on April 22 against Kentucky Country Day. Entering this week, Lenear was leading the team in hitting with a .575 batting average, seven home runs and 22 RBIs.

Construction debris landfill planned

John and Susan Pittman own their own business, they build houses, they demolish buildings and they excavate property.
A couple of months ago, they purchased 25 acres of property behind the Lighthouse Church in order to start another venture, a construction debris landfill that would be the final resting site of items from some of their demolition projects.


What do Owen County voters look like?

Statistics paint a picture that shows county is changing politically

Fifty-percent of Owen County voters are men. Fifty percent are women.
Seventy-six percent are Democrats. Twenty percent are Republicans. And 5 percent are independent, choosing to side with neither political party.

After a year’s absence, the Owen County Farmers’ Market will start its fourth season back on the courthouse lawn.
