Visits
Washington
— Photo submitted
Approximately 250 Kentucky farmers recently visited Washington,
D.C., as part of Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual Congressional
tour. The group discussed a variety of current agriculture issues,
including the farm bill, tobacco issues, farm labor and premise
and animal ID. Highlights of the visit included a Congressional
breakfast, meetings with each member of Kentucky’s Congressional
delegation and a visit from U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike
Johanns. Pictured are David Chappell, board member for Kentucky
Farm Bureau, and Congressman Geoff Davis.
