Report shows what judges have known all along

Counties spending too much to

house prisoners

In order to cover the cost of housing Owen County’s prisoners, each man, woman and child in the community pays $15.27 a year.

Wanda New will cut her hair today on the Today Show. She was selected to be one of two people interviewed during a segment on Locks of Love. Her hair measures 57” from the crown of her head to the tip of hair. It hasn’t been cut since she was a freshman in high school. New is a mail carrier for the Owenton Post Office.

New donating her hair to Locks of Love, first cut
in 42 years


It’s been 42 years since Wanda New’s hair has

been cut short.
But today, as part of a segment on the Today show featuring people who are donating to Locks of Love, New will give up her long tresses to help a child who has lost his or her hair.
